Bethany:
Will talk to Cassie about giving a presentation
Website:
We haven’t heard anything about the creation of the new website.
We are trying to get ownership of the old website, but haven’t gotten this from Nick yet. (We do have access, but there are certain things we can’t control without access (e.g., “Donation” button, etc.).
Marlow Profile:
Jeanine from Monadnock Conservancy told Jeff that they didn’t want an “official” trail to the Black Precipice.
Discussion about what “official” meant and whether there might be a social trail to access the cliff.
Group agreed to “let things lie” for the time-being and potentially revisit in the future, with the possibility of different leadership.
Casino:
Rob has submitted the application and paid the $25 fee. We were told that we are on the wait list for consideration.
Discussion about needing to pay $75/year to maintain “good standing” for future consideration. We agreed to try for a couple of years and see what happens.
Bear’s Den:
Group did a work day clearing campsite and potholes. Jim Legee seemed very pleased.
JC will nudge Jim about the trail relocation to the summit.
JC will also suggest that MCA could buck up trees felled by the state park (we cannot cut down trees, but can cut up trees on the ground).
Fall Mountain:
Rob thinks it's time to reach back out to National Grid about FM. He needs contact information. There are new flags on some trees in the area (some seem to be the ones closest to the powerlines, but it’s not clear what the overall plan is)
NG said that they were delaying selling of the property due to impending work on the powerlines
Group agreed to wait until next spring to reach out to get their temperature about what they are doing and the general status and timing of the project.
Fundraising:
Rob talked about a fundraising idea of a movie night. We could show a movie without an entrance fee (donations) such that we might not have to pay to show the movie.
Discussion about talking to Travis Peckham from Crag Vermont about possible fundraising ideas
Danielle Rao from Western Mass Climbing Coalition may also have ideas about grant writing
Gear swap?
Have Kim give a presentation?
