Board Members
Teresa noted that she does not want to be off the board entirely, but thinks that she would like to continue to be an alternate board member. A discussion ensued in which people discussed qualities of board members (time, talent, treasure).
Michelle has not showed up for some time and hasn’t responded to Jeff’s attempt to reach out.
Jeff made a motion to vote out Michelle due to lack of involvement and vote in Bethany and Teresa. Motion passed.
Indian Arrowhead
Jeff walked through the property with Dylan Summer (SPNF)
Only one crag is on their property. They stated that everything previously done is OK, but asked that no new hardware be installed on this crag.
Three other crags are on private property (George Hall with verbal permission). These climbs are considered “open” at this point.
Discussed possibly offering to help with trail maintenance on the property, as a way to earn SPNF goodwill (though the trail would not be used to access the climbs)
Marlow Profile
Monadnock Conservancy removed trail to Dark Tower
Some conversation about finding a workaround to access this area
Jeff followed up with an email (6/3/2026) to Jeanine about continuing this conservation
Jeff will send another email to Jeanine and Max about finding a trail that does not cross a wetland
We also discussed the possibility of putting in a trail just next to MC property if MC cannot find a good solution
Also some discussion about putting in large stepping stones through the wetland that could solve the problem and not require much in the way of future maintenance.
Casino Application
We are now officially a charitable trust organization - Rob pushed through the application to the Charitable Trust Unit registry
Rob will still need to apply to REVO with our new designation
Bear’s Den
JC contacted the state park assistant for the southern region (Jim Legee)
Clean up trash pile, clean up debris from the potholes, add additional blazing to reduce herd paths
The state park will do additional signage
Also discussed establishing an official trail to the summit (will do a field visit with Andrew Pealjuk), we can assist in planning and creation of trail to summit
Potential work day Saturday, August 22, rain day Sunday, August 23.
Mick will post to Facebook, Cheshire County Climbers, and MCA mailing list
Rob will post an update on the website
Swanzey
A couple trees down on the trail by the cliffs
JC expressed interest in clearing these out, will contact Chris and Cheri ahead of time to let them know we will be chainsawing on the property
