Elizabeth Burns McIntire Forest - Marlow Trail Day

Post date: Jul 13, 2017 1:48:00 PM

In conjunction with the Monadnock Conservancy we will be doing trail building and maintenance at Elizabeth Burns McIntire Forest/Marlow Profile Tuesday July 18th from 8:30 until 5pm.

We will be meeting at the Parking area at 8:30 am and working until either 5 or the work is done (whichever comes first). Volunteers should come prepared with sturdy, closed toe shoes, gloves, and food and water. If people have their own personal tools to bring, that would be helpful. This is new trail construction. As such we will be lopping, pruning and cutting a trail corridor as well as shaping a trail tread. So everything from hand loppers and folding saws up to rakes, shovels, bars, mattocks etc could be helpful. Some tasks may require eye protection. The MC has a number of safety glasses but if folks have their own they should feel free to bring it. We have a number of 5 gallon buckets and soil bags that can be used to move materials. There are two foot bridges to build (one on the existing trail and another on the new trail).
